Impressions of the bicycle trip part III France - Paris!

Oh my! To go by bicycle in France is like a roller coaster trip! It goes all the way up and down, up and down! From Antwerp to Lille I was really motivated, the sun was shining, we got there actually pretty fast but everything after that was soo painful for me. I had so much sore. I remember I wanted to cry when we got to Amiens (after Lille again 120km) because I didn't thought I could make it! I was soo tired and I was so happy when our hotel room had a bathtub!
Did you already recognised that I went on this trip with an old Amsterdam bicycle? Craaaazy! We had to stay a night in Beauvais because I couldn't make it all the way to Paris. That would have been over 150 km! And I swear 60km before Paris my bicycle almost broke down! But there was nothing I could do about it! 60 km later we honestly made it to Paris! Sooo unbelievable! In Paris I rented a room closed to the Charles de Gaulle Etoile. It was wonderful! One morning I went jogging in a park close there and met the firefighters at their morning work out! Impressiv! The boulangerie just down the street.. What I love about Paris? It's probably cliche but all the way from Charles de Gaulle Etoile to the Louvre! Most of my time I spent somewhere there and the Louvre is just amaaaaazing! Sadly I needed most of the time to recover in Paris and I had so much sore so that it was too painful to walk around haha If I'm gonna do such thing ever again? I don't know! First of all I need a new bicycle! This trip really killed it! My poor lovely bicycle! Rest in peace! I love you! And thanks to Lönja for everything we went through! For all the support! I can't imagine to have done it without you!!!:)

Impressions of the bicycle trip part II Netherland - Belgium!

So when we hit of to Rotterdam we weren't so lucky anymore. The whole time it was raining, we got lost and the worst thing contrary wind!!!! I hate it so much! But at least I had my GPS on my cellphone and by the end of the day we actually made it to Rotterdam! Crazy city with really interesting modern architecture. I really liked it there! Sadly we just stayed there the night and the next morning we headed towards Antwerp, Belgium. About 100km were really tough for me! But thanks to Marion we found a really nice and cozy hostel there and decided to stay a day. Antwerp is such a beautiful city! Loooove it! Even more fashion! Lovely Art Nouveaux! And there was like the most interesting museum I've ever seen. MAS Museum aan de strom. It's really good! Again a must-see!
Next stop was Brussels not that far. We stayed at the Van Gogh hostel which was really beautiful! The city was also interesting but we didn't have much time there because next our goal was already Lille, France about 120km!
Btw the b/w pictures are from Lönja! And thanks Padi for borrowing your bag! It was really helpful!:)

Impressions of the bicycle trip part I Amsterdam!

Remember I wanted to post you pictures from my trip! Yeah, that was like September 2011!
Sorry it took so long! So before the trip started Lönja and I spent couple of days in Amsterdam!
Actually I took a lot of pictures but it'll be too much to post them here so I took the ones I liked:)
We stayed at a hostel named stayok. We visited the Rijks museum, Van Gogh museum and Museum of Contemporary Art. I really enjoyed to be at the Rijsky museum to draw. The Van Gogh museum totally changed my view of painting! I never thought that I'd be soo impressed by Van Gogh's art! So it's a must-see! It also happened to be a theatre festival there: Fringe. And one night we got to see play from England which was called Winter. Pretty interesting!
It's also actually really good to be by bicycle in the city. It took me like a day to see everything and the weather was luckily really good! I never thought I like a city as much as I like Hamburg but Amsterdam totally hits it! I also got to meet a lot of fashionistas because there happened to be some kind of event by a magazine I forgot its name! Whatever! Really loved it!
