Peter Pan has concord the hearts of so many people for hundreds of decades and I'm sure he will continueing for a lot more! So I had a lot respect for the material but after dealing with it so long I really felt like doing my own project! It was actually a year ago when I did Hamlet so this year I thought of course let's take it to the next level (whatever that means)!
Well, I started this project around August/September last year when I sat with Ben, Frauke and Tim at the toast bar when I gave my first ideas. I want to thank Mr Siebenkotte of the HfMT that offered the Mendelssohnsaal! I booked it 4 month in advanced because I really wanted this room!
But it was in December when all the rest happened or actually a couple days before the shooting!!!:D
Peter Pan Crew:
Photographer/Lightning Design/Postproduction: Florian Mag
Set Design: Tim Tamke
Hair&Make-Up: Alicia Abramowski & Tanja Gravina
Catering/Driver/Helper and a lot more: Frauke Kolbmüller
Models: Mosche Wallach (Peter Pan), Sophia König (Wendy), Ben T.(Tinker Bell), Nieka P. (Tiger Lily), Svenja Trautvetter (Mermaid) and Isabelle S. (Hook).
Special thanks to Charlotte of the Thalia Theater, Thomas Brokowski of the Deutsche Schauspielhaus,"Jacke, wie Hose",and Amir for the help with the costumes! Sonja for making Wendy's hazelnut necklace, Alicia's grandmother for the little antique crocodile! "711" and "Hamburg Media School" for the technical equipment which I don't have much clue about. Last but not least of course my wonderful mother who helped me with the transport among other things!
Honestly I am sooo thankful for this wonderful crew! Everyone did an amazing job! I hardly had any worries because I could absolutely trust everyone to do their best! That project was actually just insane to do but with the effort of each I'm so impress how everything worked out! I mean we arrived there and the electricity didn't work and the chandlers didn't work (which you can't see on the pictures..) but Flo, Frauke and Tim handled it somehow to get the janitor to come (during his vacation on a saturday!!!) and worked it all out! Tim also managed to turn this stiff and traditional room to an welcoming, warm, cozy, mysteriouse and adventurouse room for the charackters to really tell stories! Wonderful! Reeeally liked it!
Tanja and Alicia worked over seven hourse for the stunning make up of the six charackters! Craaazy but really nice job! Without their job the costumes were useless, honestly!
Then it was Ben who called me three days before the shooting and had his foot broken but was still up for to do the fotoshoot! We had do rearrange a couple of things but everything worked out so well. Tim made a nice setting for him to sit so that he could sit. But stillI know in the end all the hourse were tough! So I really, really appreciate that!
And then I was looking foward to have Mosche, Sophia and Nieka back on the team! They are so easy going and adept always so well to the roles. Mosche and Sophia look adorable together! They really evoke the sympathy when you look at the pictures! Poor Nieka I tortured her not only with high cork heels and heavy shoulders made out of a bicycle wheel and hair extensions that were fallen off everywhere! No, she had to bend down all the time and doing a really hard work out so that she got even sore the next day! Oh my, but it really looked good! So I hope everyone also sees that it payed off!
It was back then when Tanja made the proposal for the mermaid I totally thought that Svenja would be perfect for it! Her H&M took the longest! While Tanja prepared tha face and hair, Alicia put on each rhinestones and pearls! Wow!
Then I was so happy to have Isabelle on the team! I mean I know her since 5th grade and I always wanted to work with her and finally it happened! I felt so lucky!
But seriously I know it was really difficult for me to arrange six charackters, I've never done this before but for me it was so much fun watching you and I'm so sorry we were rushing through everything so fast!
So thank you so much Frauke for reminding me of the preciouse time! She prepared the wonderful catering: bread, candy, and drinks, coffee, tea for breakfast, occassionaly helping Flo, then picking up Ben and then later a warm potatoe soup and couscous salade for everyone or another coffee. Honestly without you everyone would have turned grumpy or just falling asleep! You really kept it up! Sooo thankful!
Last but not least thank you again Flo. He was just not the photographer he also arranged the technique, the lights and the post production. After the shooting he had a lot other things on his mind but made it happened so that I could turn in the work in time! Actually I never had to do much explaining and it seemed he understood what I like:)
So I've written enough! I hope I haven't forgotten anyone! Backstage pictures I'm gonna post right after that! Hope you like the work as well! Enjoy!
