Last saturday I was delight to accompany
White Lotus, a young dynamic dance crew with lion dance at the Dschungelnächte in the
Tierpark Hagenbeck, a zoo in Hamburg. We met at 4 p.m. and the first show started at 6 p.m. which last like 10-15 minutes. Every hour they did a show 'til 10 p.m. where the last one was!
For me it was exciting to experience a mix of modern dance, comedy, XMA and traditional lion dance. Everyone could see the enthusiasm and effort they put in their work! And I think that's why they succeded to inspire the young and old people in the audience!
The reason I came with them was because I'm about to work with a small group of them for a performance which I'm really excited about. It's the assignment for the costume design class
"Duck and Cover" this semester.
